| What is Two-Factor Authentication? | Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security process in which the user provides two means of identification from separate categories of credentials; one is typically a physical code (generated by the Authy app or by Google Authenticator), and the other is something memorised, such as a password. The intention is to provide stronger protection against unauthorised access to user accounts. 2FA is used by many organisations to add an additional layer of security to sensitive IT applications and VPN access. |

| How does it work? | Both the Authy app and Google Authenticator generate a short numeric one-time code (often referred to as OTPs) used in addition to your username and password to log into Pregnancy Choice Systems. |
| What do I need to do to use Two-Factor Authentication? | You will need to download Authy or Google Authenticator if you haven't already. Download the authenticator to your smart phone, tablet and/or your computer. Once you have installed Authy or Google Authenticator you will need to register it with the code provided during the Register process |
| What if my Smartphone is lost/stolen? | Contact your manager or Rob so that we can block the lost/stolen token so that it’s no longer active for use. Contact the IT team to deactivate your old codes. Then reinstall Authy or Google Authenticator on your new smartphone. |
| Can I use Two-Factor Authentication with a mobile device or via a VPN from home? | If you have downloaded Authy or Google Authenticator you will be able to use 2FA regardless of where you are working from. |
| Can someone else use my code from Google Authenticator to access my information or 2FA protected applications? | No. A person can only authenticate to applications protected by 2FA if they know your login credentials (username and password), and have physical access to your smartphone. |
